Religions as a chance for this “secular age”.
In this time that Charles Taylor has defined as “secular age”, religions can contribute to face the biggest challenges that Europe and the whole world are living in order to rethink the interreligious and intercultural society that they are become. Indeed , thinking secularization, philosophy can allow us to rediscover the religions’ spiritual nuclei (or “essences”) that bring faiths closer rather than putting them one against the other. Philosophy is able to do it because secularization that increases the separation between the religious sphere and other areas (especially the political one), 1- is able to support and promote the discovery of the authentic core of religions as announced in their sacred texts; 2- this separation makes it possible to identify these essences not only resorting to religious institutions.
